DRAWINGS FROM GEORGIA (2017–2018)

Diving into an unfamiliar culture for a long period of time can be overwhelming. I perceive these drawings, paintings, and postcards as kind of "byproducts" of the topics I've absorbed. Some of them are illustrations for «The knight in the panther's skin» (an epic poem by Shota Rustaveli), some collages are based on a georgian song called «Suliko», some drawings are self-portraits among georgian letters.
Certain motifs come through: georgian architecture, angels from ancient church frescoes, fig fruits. Particular themes and ideas develop into continuous projects, others remain in a form of sketches, just like all of these.
